What separates legitimate paranormal research from entertainment, exaggeration, and fabricated evidence?
Jenn Stoller and Stephen Johnson of Longhorn Paranormal recently sat down with Jay for an in-depth conversation about what paranormal investigation actually looks like in the field, and what happens when conventional explanations begin to fall short.
Jenn, a profoundly Deaf U.S. Army veteran, paranormal investigator, and executive producer, is joined by Stephen, whose background in photography, media, and field documentation plays a major role in how the team records and evaluates unusual events.
During the discussion, Jenn and Stephen explain Longhorn Paranormal’s approach to investigations, including environmental monitoring, synchronized recording equipment, photography and video documentation, historical research, witness accounts, and the process of eliminating ordinary explanations before labeling something unexplained.
The conversation also examines the realities of private residential investigations, client safety, residual versus intelligent activity, reports of aggressive phenomena, claims involving demonic influence, and the long-standing theory that locations associated with trauma may somehow retain or reproduce elements of past events.
The discussion eventually turns toward Bradshaw Ranch and the larger Sedona high-strangeness phenomenon, including UAP reports, unusual entities, cryptid encounters, and the possibility that phenomena traditionally separated into categories such as ghosts, UFOs, and cryptids may have more in common than we currently understand.
Longhorn Paranormal does not believe the job of an investigator is to manufacture answers. Our job is to document what happens, test what can be tested, eliminate what can be explained, and remain willing to say “we don’t know” when the evidence does not support a conclusion.
Are these encounters supernatural? Are they part of an unknown aspect of the physical world? Or are we looking at something entirely different?
That question is exactly why we continue investigating.
